Office Support

Our office support is available Monday through Friday approximately from 8:00  a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  We are available for emergencies on a 24-hour basis. Each client is given the means of communicating with their therapist if any crisis should occur. Please feel free to call and leave a message on our answering machine when our secretary is not here. We will try to answer your call as promptly as possible.

Contacting Your Therapist

Due to your therapist’s work schedule, and to the fact that it is not our practice to answer the phone when we are with clients, it is likely that your therapist will not be immediately available by telephone when you call, unless you have previously scheduled a time to call. When you call, you will either reach our office support staff, or our answering service (HIPAA compliant) or an answering machine, which is checked regularly throughout the day, even on weekends.  Your therapist will make every effort to return your call on the same day you make it, hopefully within 24 hours, with the exception of weekends and holidays.  When leaving a message, please keep it brief, and leave clear instructions:  leave only your name and phone number, the therapist you are trying to reach, and the best time to reach you.  You may also leave a very brief message (one or two sentences) but please do not leave detailed messages.  Most commonly, detailed messages will not be passed on to your therapist anyway, only identifying information and when and how to reach you.

For more detailed messages, please send an email to your therapist (he or she will gladly give you their email address), or to our general email address,  Each of us also checks our email frequently throughout the day, and this is often the most efficient means of reaching us, especially over weekends and holidays.  You may even leave cancellation notices by email, but please follow up with a phone call if you do not get a confirmation reply.  Please be advised though, that while we welcome email communication as a simple means of contacting your therapist, it is our policy not to deal with clinical information by means of email.  Please refer to our EMAIL COMMUNICATION POLICY for details.

In the event that your therapist needs to contact you about scheduling problems or emergencies, please let them know how you would prefer to be reached.
